Vanuatu is easy to visit and famously complicated to acquire citizenship of — two facts that are worth separating. American travellers generally enter without a visa for tourism. The complication is the flights: there are no direct services from the United States, so you connect through Australia, New Zealand or Fiji, and their transit rules apply to you.
