Consulates of Ivory Coast in the United States

Ivory Coast keeps a single consular office in the United States, in Washington. This page gives what we hold for it and links the six consular procedures Ivorian citizens ask about most.

The office below carries the address and telephone we hold for it, and its official website where the mission publishes one. Where a field is missing it is because we do not have it, not because it does not exist.

U.S. documents for use in Ivory Coast

Ivory Coast is not a party to the Hague Apostille Convention. An apostille is therefore not enough: a U.S. document intended for use in Ivory Coast goes through the full legalisation chain — authentication by the Secretary of State of the state that issued it, then the U.S. Department of State, then Ivory Coast's own consular stamp. The last step is the office above, in person or by post.

Apostille status from the HCCH status table for the Convention of 5 October 1961, checked on 6 October 2026.

Translation

Documents issued in Ivory Coast usually arrive in French, so a U.S. authority will normally want a certified English translation, and Ivorian authorities will want the reverse for U.S. paperwork. Who counts as a certified translator is decided by the authority that receives the document, not by the consulate, so ask before you pay for one.
