U.S. documents for use in Tanzania
Tanzania is not a party to the Hague Apostille Convention. An apostille is therefore not enough: a U.S. document intended for use in Tanzania goes through the full legalisation chain — authentication by the Secretary of State of the state that issued it, then the U.S. Department of State, then Tanzania's own consular stamp. The last step is the office above, in person or by post.

Translation
Documents issued in Tanzania may arrive in Swahili or English. A U.S. authority takes the English ones as they stand; anything in the other language normally needs a certified English translation. Who counts as a certified translator is decided by the authority that receives the document, not by the consulate, so ask before you pay for one.
