U.S. documents for use in Senegal
Senegal has been a party to the Hague Apostille Convention since 23 March 2023. A U.S. birth certificate, marriage certificate, diploma or power of attorney needs an apostille from the Secretary of State of the state that issued it — not a consular legalisation. The office above does not need to stamp it, and should not charge you to.

Translation
Documents issued in Senegal usually arrive in French, so a U.S. authority will normally want a certified English translation, and Senegalese authorities will want the reverse for U.S. paperwork. Who counts as a certified translator is decided by the authority that receives the document, not by the consulate, so ask before you pay for one.
